Operate from the Tag Browser

If a tag can write to hardware (that is, it has an write address) and if the currently signed-in operator has the correct privileges to do so, then they can write a new value directly from the Tag Browser.

In addition to the custom privilege protecting the tag, the user must have at least one of the following privileges: Tag Modify, Tag Add/Copy or Tag Delete. Without at least one of these, they do not have access to the Tag Browser.

This feature does not give users any new or additional access to operate hardware. They must be able to open the tag browser, see the tag (no realm-filtering restrictions) and possess the custom privilege protecting that tag.

Changing an analog I/O tag's value

Note that in the case of a Selector Switch output, the user will be presented with the Horizontal Buttons widget rather than an Numeric Output widget.

Operate tags other than I/O tags

The following types do not have write addresses, but can be operated from the Tag Browser:

Counter Tag

Operating this tag will reset the counter. Enabled only when a valid source is defined.

MultiWrite Tag

Will trigger the multi-write to occur. Enabled only when there is at least one output.

Report Tag

Will run the report configured within the tag.

Totalizer Tag

Will reset the current total. Enabled only when a valid source is defined.
