Internet Connection Troubles

If you have configured a VTScada Thin Client Server, but are unable to connect to it, try the following options:

  • If you are using VTScada Light, you must use a VPN for Internet / mobile access from outside your network.

  • A common problem is that some other program is using port 80 on the server. Reconfigure to use port 81 or 8080.

  • Ensure that your application is secured and that you have granted the Thin Client Access privilege to the account you are using to sign in. This privilege is not granted to any of the default roles.

  • Realm Filtering is configured and you are trying to connect as a super-user without having made that possible by configuring the RootNamespace property to assign a realm for users who are not part of any security group. The value of RootNamespace must not match any defined security realm.

  • Realm Filtering is configured and you are trying to connect to a realm other than the one matching your security group.

  • VTScada Thin Client Servers can be configured only if you are signed in at one of the machines included in the server list. In other words, you cannot configure a Thin Client Server List unless you are working at one of the machines that is a member of that list.

  • If your VTScada Thin Client Server is protected behind a firewall, consult with your IT department to configure access.

  • Internet File Cache Failure. Typically indicates a full hard drive, a cache that has reached it maximum size, or both. Check the amount of free space on your hard drive and use the tools within your browser to clear the cache.
