10522 Tag Name Collision

Indicates that there is a conflict between the IDs used to identify a tag. This could be between actual tag names, tag IDs, or tag cache IDs, or possibly even between these as they all must be mutually unique. The most common case is the name.

All three IDs are displayed for both tags in the error description. In general, the last tag started with a particular name or ID is the one that continues.

When you have tag name collisions, only the first tag encountered in the tag database is loaded. The error occurs when it tries to load the second tag with the same name. This second tag is not ever loaded, so it never appears in the tag database. Even exporting it to Excel will not help.

The quickest fix is to use the Tag Browser and to disable the visible tags that are causing the error, then re-start the application. Disabling a tag is the same as unloading and also prevents it from re-starting. You should not have an error message for those tags. Open the tag browser, filter for those tags, and delete or rename them as appropriate. The original tags should now appear as disabled. Re-enable them and re-start the app. The error message should be gone.
