WORKSHOP DESCRIPTION:
- 1 Hr – Part 1 – Intro to SCADA
- 1.5 Hrs – Part 2 – Demonstration using VTScada with neutral SCADA Application
- 1.5 Hrs – Part 3 – Applying lessons to an existing Halifax Water Application
- 1 Hr – Part 4 – Data Sharing and Future of SCADA
- 1 Hr – Part 5 – General Q&A / Attendee lead discussions
We will have a few 15-minute breaks there but are not planning to give an hour for lunch or anything. The intent is to fill a morning or afternoon with educational content.

COURSE FORMAT:
Every attempt is made to keep the course informal and an enjoyable day-long training experience. Registration starts at 8:00 am, and the instructor will start shortly after 8:30. Wrap-up time is usually around 4:00pm. Though all workshops are non-smoking, ample breaks are provided for coffee and discussion.
PRESENTER:
Dave Spencer is a member of the Technical Sales and Marketing teams at VTScada by Trihedral, where he works closely with customers and end users to help them get the most from their SCADA systems. A Mechanical Engineering graduate, Dave began his career at Focal Technologies, designing cutting-edge rotary joints for power, signal, hydraulic, and fiber optic applications in the defense and renewable energy sectors.
Since joining VTScada in 2016, Dave has contributed to a wide range of projects, from the Gemini Telescopes to national monitoring systems. Each leveraging VTScada’s flexible, intuitive platform.
Outside of work, Dave runs a small farm and spends his free time cycling, chasing waves, and staying sharp on wilderness medicine for search and rescue.
