Duke Energy taped Ulteig Engineers to develop a VTScada power generation system for pharmaceutical manufacturer Novo Nordisk in Clayton, NC.

Duke Energy, the largest electric Utility in the United States, selected Ulteig Engineers, Inc. (formerly Affinity Energy) an integrator of energy SCADA systems, to design and install an on-site generation system at Novo Nordisk, a premier manufacturer of pharmaceutical products based in Clayton, NC.
Ulteig leveraged VTScada’s integrated design and power management features to deliver a reliable monitoring and control application for critical electrical equipment such as standby generators, uninterruptible power supplies and power distribution switchgear.
“This is a very exciting project for us”, says Ulteig President Allan Evora. “Power management and control is one of our core competencies. We had to think outside of the box to address the project’s unique requirements. We mobilized our team within a very short time frame.”
Equipment integrated includes:
- Kohler generators
- Caterpillar generators
- Liebert NXL UPSs
- Schweitzer Engineering Labs protective relays and meters
- Woodward controllers and electrical switchgear
